A Potted History

Freedom Holiday Homes started some 20 years ago in the kitchen of a cottage in Frittenden, Kent. A single mum and grandma began by offering houses of friends and family and the first brochure featured no photographs at all - only an artist's impression of each property. As the business grew, the office expanded into the sitting room and the company took on their first member of staff! By 1996, the team comprised of four people, and this is when a computer booking system was developed. In the late 1990's, Freedom Holiday Homes relocated to Cranbrook and also launched a website. In recent years, the business has gone from strength to strength. We now employ two full time and four part time staff and have more than 140 holiday cottages in Kent and East Sussex for customers to choose from.

The Team

Here at Freedom Holiday Homes our staff are our most valuable asset - they are real people, not just telephone operators in a faceless call centre. They all work incredibly hard to find the right cottage to suit your needs. As every cottage has been personally inspected by our staff, when you call us you will be able to talk to someone who has seen the property and can (hopefully!) answer all your questions. It is important to us to provide a quality service and we are always happy to hear from our visitors with ideas or ways to improve our service.

Doing Our Bit For The Community

We sure aren't perfect but we're trying to do the right thing. Here at Freedom Holiday Homes we want to leave things a little bit better than we find them, so we are proud to be an active part of our community where we live and work. Here are some of the ways we try to do the right thing:

• We are always trying to find ways to reduce our carbon emissions as a business as well as sourcing ethically sound and ecologically sound products to use ourselves. Our 2008 brochure is printed on 50% recycled paper (the other 50% will be from sustainable sources).
• We are actively promoting the sourcing of local produce and services by our customers.
• We are also active members in many local tourism bodies.

We hope that leading by example by doing good things we will inspire others to follow.

Always Aiming To Improve...

From the beginning of this year, every customer who hires one of our properties receives a Customer Service Questionnaire asking them for their detailed opinion of all aspects of their holiday. So far, we have enjoyed a very high rate of return and are finding the results extremely useful. At the end of this year, we will be delighted to publish the results and find out how well our staff, service, brochure, website and properties have scored with visitors.
