Set in grounds of eleven acres and surrounded by woods and wildlife, Gamekeeper's Lodge offers simple and relaxed accommodation, perfect for getting away from it all yet just a ten minute walk by public footpath to the beautiful gardens of Sissinghurst Castle. The cottage dates from the early 1800s and was originally the gamekeeper's larder to the main house opposite. It has been renovated to retain much of its character, with many exposed beams and even the original butler's sink. The woodburner helps to make the Lodge a cosy and romantic retreat. The cottage looks out onto the most beautiful pond, home to wildfowl, exotic ducks and chickens and geese. As well as the wonderful walk to Sissinghurst Castle there are many others through acres of woodland and countryside accessed directly from the cottage by footpath. The charming country town of Cranbrook is only three miles away.
