The Stables are a perfect place to holiday with the family - big garden, woods and meadows; near the seaside; only one hour to London; castle and gradens and last but not least very friendly landlords with dogs to brush. Thank you for the warm welcome.

We had a lovely time with the rest and peace here. Almost every evening we saw the deers in the field.

We have all really enjoyed staying at the Stables. The facilities have been great, the garden and outlook over the field to the woods is idyllic and the location perfect to travel to all the local attractions. On top of all this we really appreciate the warm welcome and hspitality. Definitely a place we'd love to return to in the future

You only need to glance back through the visitors book to see the golden thread that make staying at The Stables so enjoyable - the kindness and friendly enthusiasm of Sir Frederick and Lady Anne, the owners. During our stay we strolled through the woods, enjoyed the orchids in the wild flower meadows, watched deer grazing at the bottom of the meadow and enjoyed the antics of the bats. We also visited Petworth House, Wakehurst Place, Chartwell and Knole.

We have had a wonderful week! The Stables has been an oasis of comfort, peace and tranquility in which to relax and enjoy the idyllic surroundings. We have had lovely walks in the woods and were thrilled to see all the wild orchids in the meadow! The NGS Yellow Book for Sussex, thoughtfully provided in the cottage, offers opportunities to visit some interesting private gardens in the area. Thank you so much Lady Anne and Sir Frederick for your warm welcome and thoughtful kindness during our stay and for the herbs and geraniums too!

It was a pleasure staying at The Stables! This is truly the perfect home from home, set in perfect surroundings and with really perfect hosts. Our kids enjoyed it so much staying here - especially Cruns, who made friendship to your dogs, had a holiday to remember. We discovered a lot of sights and places we had not seen in the south east so far and even the weather did its best. Thank you so much for your hospitality - we hope to come back soon and meet you in good health!!

We enjoyed a wonderful week because everything was perfect -your kind hospitality and the nice cottage, the peaceful landscape, the sheep and the weather, the NT houses and their beautiful gardens - and last but not least - the dogs!

Thank you for 14 wonderful days in The Stables. This peaceful location together with your warm hospitality gave us the base to enjoy your wonderful country. We enjoyed many castles, gardens, the seaside and also our children were very amused and relaxed during the stay. Your cottage was very comfortable with an excellent bath and completely fitted with everything. The carp in the pond has a length of 35cm and a thickness of 8-10cm - we hope you will be the next to catch him!

Thank you so much for the friendly and warm welcome, it made us feel at home immediately and what a suprise were the welcome presents and the beautiful flowers in the sitting room! The house is fantastic, so cosy and clean. It was every time nice to come home. We did enjoy our walks in the woodland and the fields especially walking with your sweet dogs the first day was great fun!We sincerely hope to come again to this delicious place!

For many years we ran our own holiday cottage so we really appreciated the hard work that has made The Stables home from home. We have been blessed with wonderful weather which added to the enjoyment of our holiday. We visited Emmets Gardens and Chartwelland Knowle. Our thanks for an all round excellent holiday.

Thank you for the warm welcome, flowers and milk. This is our first holiday in the UK and we have had a very good week. We will come back again as we haven't seen everything! We also visited London for the day. The House is in the stables and the surroundings couldn't be better, such a lovely cottage, and the delicious gardens with the great view.

We have had a beautiful time in this wonderful cottage. We have absolutely enjoyed our stay here, the quiet, the comfort and the very warm hospitality. It's a great place to discover, the gorgeous houses and gardens, to make a walk in the Ashdown Forest, or a stroll along the streets of the nice villages. Many thanks for a relaxing holiday.

What can we say... were sorry we have to leave! One week is too short, but enough to get to love the stables and you lovely people! We enjoyed every minute and take home alot of memories to cherish. many thanks for everything.

It is unbelievable how fast seven days can be over and how fast an unknown place can one make feel like home. Our whole family spend a wonderful week in the East Sussex region, staying at probably the best residence one could wish for.
